You Can Blog With Us Here

At Triumph CNC and Laser - www.TriumphCNC.com - we specialize in precision cutting, engraving, and carving of all species of wood, plastic, laminates, non-ferrous metal and stainless steel sheets, fabric and vinyl.  We are a full wood shop and limited metal shop with experience working in most materials including plastics, glass, fabric, and stone, conveniently located at 7430 Fulton Ave in North Hollywood, CA.

We can do custom milling of moldings and other architectural elements. We can duplicate your moldings and other elements also.

In addition to engraving plaques, and specialty items such as control panels, we build custom signs out of wood, plastic, metal, glass or a combination of them.

We use a CNC router with a capacity to put a sheet of material on it six feet wide and up to fourteen feet long and a cutting capacity of over five feet wide and 14 feet long. We also use a 100 watt CNC laser with a sheet and cut capacity of five feet wide by over twenty
feet long. Our router can handle material up to approximately 6 inches thick and the laser can handle up to 3/4 inch thick materials.

We have many years of experience as custom cabinet makers, and general contractors. We also have a very good knowledge of machining, welding, restoring (both home and vehicle), electricity, electronics, mechanics, and computers. Because of our extensive experience and knowledge, we can offer insight into designing and building that we believe other shops do not. We are known for catching mistakes beforehand and thinking on our feet and out of the box.

We have specialized in custom and difficult projects and know how to get them done correctly. We have a long list of satisfied customers who are never hesitant to recommend us. We strive for excellence in everything we do. We can work to your specifications and usually exceed your expectations.

We can take your artwork or vector images and convert them to cut or engrave what you need. We also can draw what you need from scratch to create your parts or artwork.

About CNC..... CNC stands for Computer Numeric Control (or Computer Numeric Cutting depending on who you ask). We take your drawings or images and electronically (and sometimes manually) convert them into what is called a "tool path" which is a set of commands that "control" the motion of our machines. Once we have that our router or laser will follow those commands precisely and cut out, carve or engrave your material into the final shape. We can also create our own drawings that can be converted into tool paths so if you don't have experience with computerized drawing or CAD (Computer Assisted Drawing) that is not a problem. We also have the ability to "digitize" a part or template that you already have in order to create a tool path to duplicate it.

What is CNC good at and what is it not? CNC work, although it sounds quick and easy, often is neither. Straight forward parts can be made relatively quickly but difficult parts can not. CNC work is therefore better at some things than others. Where it excels is in duplicating many parts that are exactly the same. It also excels in cutting or carving very difficult shapes or engravings or in cutting parts that have to be as close to specification as possible. What CNC work is not good at is cutting out one or two parts that are relatively simple. The costs to create the tool path and set up the machines is often much more than if were just cut manually, which we are able to do as well.

We will always assess your job to make sure that CNC cutting is the most cost effective and appropriate way to get to where you want to be.

You will find us friendly and easy to work with especially if you bring us food.

Accuracy- The accuracy of the machines can vary depending on the materials being cut and their thickness. Most of our cutting and engraving is usually within a tolerance of .002" to .005". As a comparison the average notebook paper is about .003" (three thousandths of an inch) thick and 1/16" is .0625" (sixty-two and a half thousandths of an inch). Where as we cannot guarantee that we will always be inside these tolerances, in most instances we are substantially more accurate than is necessary for what is required. There are ways to increase the accuracy, but of course this is more time consuming and we would only do so if it were critical to the job.
